Principal Stroud

Welcome Back, Wildcats to a wonderful year of learning! I have enjoyed watching all of our Kindergarten-5th-grade students settle into their new classrooms and routines. I look forward to visiting classrooms all year and seeing all of our Wildcats hard at work making every minute count.

Our theme this year is "Bringing the AWESOME EVERY DAY" and "Kindness"! We are encouraging our Wildcats to set a kindness goal each day and work hard to achieve that goal because were are #TEAMBMES!

I was able to meet with all grade levels the first week of school and share one of my favorite books, "All Are Welcome." We discussed what it looks like to welcome EVERYONE to our school. We have new Wildcats and old Wildcats but we are all a community of Wildcats.

Please be on the lookout for flyers and information on our school website about all of the fun events coming up this year. We will look forward to Boosterthon Fun Run, Bingo Nights, Family Dance, Character Breakfast, and much more. These are all wonderful events that bring our school community together for some fun!

The Buckland Mills Chess Cub is one of the many before or after school clubs that are offered. This is an opportunity for students to practice the IB PYP learner attitude of commitment and cooperation as each student works to become more proficient at the game of chess and supporting classmates. All participants also have the opportunities to test their skills at different tournaments through the year. I can't wait to see how many trophies we bring home this year!

Students at Buckland Mills are taught to be creative and critical thinkers in all grade levels. Seeing students at work always makes me so proud of our wildcats. They work hard and support each other every step of the way with new learning.

Our school year is off to a great start! I look forward to working with all students, staff, and families to create a community of positivity, kindness, and success for the 2019-2020 school year.

Sincerely,
Principal Stroud
