I am very excited to be introducing a new concept for Buckland Mills fifth graders called Choice-Based Art or also known as Teaching Artistic Behavior.   Fifth grade students can access materials of their choosing and be in charge of the construction and subject matter just like professional artists. Currently, the stations I have operating are: Collage, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, and Fiber Arts to include weaving and sewing. I am optimistic that students will manage the stations and take an active role in the safe handling of materials.
