Learning Goals for the week of October 24-28:
Reading: Students are working hard to determine Text Importance and to Sequence according to these important details. In writing, students are excited to create Spooky suspenseful stories using transition words, sensory words and descriptive language
Math: We are beginning Unit 4- Data Analysis & Statistics. Students will collect, organize, and interpret data (including bar graphs, line graphs, and stem & leaf plots). Students will also use sets of data to determine the mean, median, mode, and range
Science: Students will be classifying organisms using physical characteristics, body structures, and behavior of the organism. We will identify and distinguish between the 5 Kingdoms (Moneran, Protist, Fungi, Animal, and Plant)
NAG: We are beginning the American Southeast. Students will discuss key political features, physical and climate characteristics, natural resources and economic activities, population, life today. and the states/capitals.
Exhibition is here!
Students have begun working in small groups to research the topics for their Exhibition projects. We will work on this research for the next couple weeks. The final presentations will be on the evening of Dec. 20th and all families will attend to watch the students share their action plans. Mark your calendar!
*Student Led Conferences are on November 7th. Don't forget that your child is leading the conference so they must come with you!
*The Luray Caverns Trip is November 9th. Students should arrive by 9:00 AM (normal time).
