All About Ms. Swiger
Hello everyone! My name is Tessa Swiger. I am the IB Primary Years Programme Coordinator at Buckland Mills Elementary School. This is my 6th year at BMES. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Seton Hill University. I received my B.A. in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Special Education. During my time there I presented research on inquiry and play as well as students using technology in nature. I was awarded grant monies to fund Beebots and coding materials for our classroom, independent task centers, and Osmo Learning kits. Previously, I have taught students with special needs in a variety of settings as well as Kindergarten. In my free tim, I love to visit Shenandoah National Park, go to concerts, read and travel. I am passionate about supporting teachers and students in their exploration of inquiry and creativity!
